Defining your goal up front is a pivotal first step in a successful weight loss program. Having a target weight goal will help you keep focused on reaching that goal.

Every week, write down the amount of weight that you have lost. Write down each thing you eat as you go throughout your day. Detailing what you have eaten in a written format allows you to take responsibility for your decisions. In addition, this will give you extra determination to select better food and drinks.

Once you are very hungry, you will begin making silly food choices. Keep yourself from succumbing to this trap. Not planning your meals ahead of time is a surefire way to get caught in the junk food trap. When you leave for the day, have food with you. Take a brown bag lunch each day going forward. It's a good choice for not only your body, but also your bank account.

Eating right and keeping up to your regular exercise regimen is the best way to lose weight. Exercising at least 3 times a week is great, while exercising every day is not essential. Make exercise fun if you are bored with it. Join a dance club or class, for example, if you already enjoy dancing.

You won't eat junk food if there isn't any around. If you can't see it then you won't crave it so often, so tuck it out of sight, or, better yet, leave it in the grocery store where it belongs! You have a greater chance of eating food that is good for you if you keep healthy food around you at all times.

Use a support network to assist you in your weight loss journey and this will help you to stay motivated. If you get to the point where you feel like stopping, then this support you get from other people will pump you up and give you the motivation to keep going. Ask others for help if you feel like you are lacking motivation. This will help you stay on track and reach your ultimate goal.
